It’s that time of year when farmers are gathering their last harvest for the year, when animals are beginning to store food for the winter and for you to clear some room in your garage to keep your car and lawn furniture.
This harvest of underloved bicycles gives your old ride the chance to be refurbished, resurrected and redistributed. It’s happening on Saturday, November 8th across from the Carlington Recreation Centre (1520 Caldwell Avenue), off Marivale Road, between the Queensway and Baseline Road. Mechanics will also be on hand to offer free, five-minute bike tune-ups.
Sweet dreams, you purple beauties.
The RightBike bike share program is now closed for the 2014 season. Let’s all bid these purple beauties goodbye as they enter their long period of winter hibernation.
This season we have flourished in so many ways. We now have 16 hubs, countless donations, steadily increased awareness, and so much else to be proud of. Your donations have helped us reach almost 100 bikes in our fleet! Without you wonderful supporters, none of this could have been accomplished. THANK YOU, from the bottom of our hearts.
Also, we are announcing the season’s closing date as Friday, October 10, 2014. This means all the bikes and hubs will be put away by Thanksgiving Weekend! Please note that this also means only 2 more D.I.Y. nights left of the regular season.
Thank you to everyone who supports RightBike! Without you, we wouldn’t be us!
Richard Carter and Shane Norris receiving the City of Ottawa’s 2012 Bruce Timmermans Award on behalf of RightBike
Causeway Work Centre and RightBike wish to bid farewell to Shane Norris as he moves on to other opportunities, which we are sure will be equally good for our environment and community. During his four years as operational manager, Shane has been RightBike’s strongest advocate, building partnerships and goodwill throughout the city of Ottawa. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
This means we have a big gap to fill at RightBike as we search for someone to take on this meaningful small business. If you have a commitment to your community and an entrepreneurial spirit, click here to read the full posting.
